Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC)

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released Advertisement No. 07 of 2026-27 (Notice No. 4430/PSC, dated 4 August 2026) for recruitment to 46 posts of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) in Group-A of the Odisha Municipal Engineering Service Cadre under the Housing & Urban Development Department. Online applications can be submitted from 11 August 2026 to 11 September 2026 (5:00 PM), and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for 8 November 2026.

Vacancy Details

OPSC has notified a total of 46 vacancies for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil), of which 15 posts are reserved for women. The category-wise vacancy distribution is given below:

Of the total 46 vacancies, 2 posts are reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) whose permanent disability is 40% or more.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

A candidate must be a Graduate in Civil Engineering from any University or Institution recognised by the Government, or must be an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers of India in Civil (AMIE Civil).

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above 42 years on 1 January 2026 (born between 2 January 1984 and 1 January 2005).

• SC / ST / SEBC / Women / Ex-Servicemen: 5 years relaxation
• Persons with Disabilities (40% or more): 10 years relaxation
• PwD candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC: Cumulative relaxation of 15 years

Odia Language Requirement

Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia, and must have passed the Middle School examination with Odia as a language subject or passed Matriculation with Odia as a medium of examination.

Salary / Pay Scale

The post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) carries the scale of pay in Level-12 of the pay matrix provided under Rule-3 of the ORSP Rules-2017, corresponding to the pre-revised scale of Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15,600 – Rs. 39,100) with Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400, along with usual dearness allowance and other allowances.

Selection Process

Selection for OPSC AEE Civil Recruitment 2026 is made through a competitive examination conducted in three stages:

• Preliminary Examination: 100 objective-type questions in Civil Engineering (100 marks, 1.5 hours). Minimum qualifying marks apply.
• Main Examination: Two papers (Paper-I: General Studies - 200 marks, Paper-II: Civil Engineering - 300 marks). Total 500 marks.
• Interview: Personality Test carrying 50 marks.
