Overview

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has released the AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 notification for 2,218 tentative Nursing Officer vacancies across AIIMS New Delhi and other participating AIIMS institutes/hospitals. The recruitment will be conducted through the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET)–11. The online application process commenced on 24th July 2026, and the last date to submit the online application form is 13th August 2026 (up to 5:00 PM).

Application Fee

Fees can be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. SC/ST candidates who appear in the examination will have their fee refunded after declaration of results.

Vacancy Details (Tentative)

A total of 2218 vacancies for Nursing Officer have been reported across 27 participating AIIMS institutes and allied hospitals. As per Government of India's decision, 80% of seats are reserved for female candidates and 20% for male candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Route I: B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council recognized institute or university, OR Post-Certificate/Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing; AND registration as a Nurse and Midwife.
• Route II: Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institute/board/council; registration as a Nurse and Midwife; and two years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital acquired after obtaining the essential qualification.

Age Limit

The base age limit for all AIIMS is 18 to 30 years as on the closing date (13 August 2026). Age relaxation is applicable as per rules (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PWBD: 10 years).

Selection Process (NORCET-11)

• Stage I (NORCET Preliminary): A 90-minute qualifying exam with 100 MCQs (100 marks). Negative marking of 1/3 applies. This stage only qualifies candidates for Stage II.
• Stage II (NORCET Mains): A 180-minute exam with 160 case-scenario-based MCQs (160 marks). Negative marking of 1/3 applies. Final merit is based solely on Stage II performance.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected Nursing Officers will be placed at Level 07 in the Pay Matrix, corresponding to the pre-revised Pay Band-2 of Rs. 9,300–34,800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4,600/-, under Group-B classification. Posts also carry usual allowances admissible to Central Government servants.
