Overview

Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2026 has been officially announced for the Short Service Commission (SSC) Jun 2027 (AT 27) Course. The Indian Navy invites applications from eligible unmarried men and women graduates for officer-level positions across 12 branches/cadres including Executive, Pilot, Naval Armament, Engineering, Electrical, Naval Constructor, and more. Online applications open from 25 June 2026 and the last date to apply is 03 August 2026 (Extended). Training will commence at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Executive & Engineering Branches: BE/B.Tech in relevant disciplines with minimum 60% marks.
• Pilot, Observer & ATC: BE/B.Tech with min 60%; 60% aggregate in Class X and XII and min 60% in English.
• Logistics: BE/B.Tech (First Class), MBA (First Class), B.Sc/B.Com with PG Diploma, or MCA/M.Sc IT.
• Education: MSc/MA in Maths/Physics/History or ME/M.Tech in relevant branches.

Selection Process

• Stage 1 (Shortlisting): Based on marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
• Stage 2 (SSB Interview): Shortlisted candidates will be notified for SSB interview via email/SMS.
• Stage 3 (Medical Examination): Conducted for SSB-recommended candidates.
• Stage 4 (Merit List): Prepared based on SSB marks after medical clearance.

Salary & Probation

The initial gross salary of a Sub Lieutenant starts from Rs 1,20,000/- (approximately) per month. Candidates selected for Short Service Commission will serve initially for 12 years (extendable by 2 years). The probation period is two years starting from the date of grant of Sub Lieutenant rank.

Training Details – Indian Naval Academy

Candidates selected for the Indian Navy SSC Jun 2027 (AT 27) Course will undergo training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. Key training-related points are as follows:

• Candidates will be inducted in the rank of Sub Lieutenant, subject to clearing induction medical examination at INA, Ezhimala upon posting.
• Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training. Any candidate found to be married or who marries during training will be discharged from service.
• Candidates must fulfil the educational qualification stipulated above before joining INA, Ezhimala by June 2027. The candidate failing to meet stipulated educational criteria will not be permitted to join INA, Ezhimala.
• Male candidates shortlisted for GS(X) are also eligible to volunteer for submarine arm subject to medical fitness, vacancies, and service requirements.

Candidates who meet the Indian Navy SSC eligibility criteria 2026 can apply online through the official Indian Navy recruitment portal. The online application process is active from 25 June 2026 and the final deadline is 03 August 2026. No applications will be accepted after the last date.

Important instructions before applying:

• Candidates must register and fill the application on the Indian Navy website at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. To save time, candidates can fill in their details and upload documents in advance.
• Whilst filling the e-application, keep the following documents readily available:
  • Correct personal particulars (as given in Matriculation Certificate)
  • Valid e-mail address and mobile number (mandatory fields)
  • CGPA covering up to 5th & 7th semester for regular and integrated BE/B.Tech courses respectively and all semesters for other degree programmes
  • All relevant documents (preferably mark sheets up to 10th & 12th certificate)
  • Date of birth proof (as proof of 10th or 12th certificate)
  • NCC 'C' certificate issued by National Cadet Corps (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-size colour photograph in original JPG/TIFF format
• If any scanned document is not legible/readable, the application will be rejected. Candidates must take a printout of the application and carry it while appearing for SSB interview.
• The application once submitted will be final and no request for amendments/change will be entertained.
• Multiple applications for this course by any candidate will lead to cancellation of his/her candidature.

Common Application Mistakes to Avoid

• Uploading blurred, low-resolution, or incorrectly formatted photographs and documents - these lead to rejection.
• Entering incorrect personal details that do not match your Matriculation Certificate.
• Selecting a branch for which you do not meet the educational qualification or stream requirement.
• Failing to include CGPA/marks for all required semesters as specified for your course type.
• Changing your registered mobile number or e-mail address after submission - you may miss SSB shortlisting communications.
• Submitting multiple application forms - this will lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Not taking a printout of the submitted application - candidates must carry it to the SSB interview.
