Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Executive & Engineering Branches: BE/B.Tech in relevant disciplines with minimum 60% marks.
  • Pilot, Observer & ATC: BE/B.Tech with min 60%; 60% aggregate in Class X and XII and min 60% in English.
  • Logistics: BE/B.Tech (First Class), MBA (First Class), B.Sc/B.Com with PG Diploma, or MCA/M.Sc IT.
  • Education: MSc/MA in Maths/Physics/History or ME/M.Tech in relevant branches.

Selection Process

  • Stage 1 (Shortlisting): Based on marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
  • Stage 2 (SSB Interview): Shortlisted candidates will be notified for SSB interview via email/SMS.
  • Stage 3 (Medical Examination): Conducted for SSB-recommended candidates.
  • Stage 4 (Merit List): Prepared based on SSB marks after medical clearance.

Salary & Probation

The initial gross salary of a Sub Lieutenant starts from Rs 1,20,000/- (approximately) per month. Candidates selected for Short Service Commission will serve initially for 12 years (extendable by 2 years). The probation period is two years starting from the date of grant of Sub Lieutenant rank.

Training Details – Indian Naval Academy

Candidates selected for the Indian Navy SSC Jun 2027 (AT 27) Course will undergo training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. Key training-related points are as follows:

  • Candidates will be inducted in the rank of Sub Lieutenant, subject to clearing induction medical examination at INA, Ezhimala upon posting.
  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training. Any candidate found to be married or who marries during training will be discharged from service.
  • Candidates must fulfil the educational qualification stipulated above before joining INA, Ezhimala by June 2027. The candidate failing to meet stipulated educational criteria will not be permitted to join INA, Ezhimala.
  • Male candidates shortlisted for GS(X) are also eligible to volunteer for submarine arm subject to medical fitness, vacancies, and service requirements.
