About BEL Senior Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), India's premier Navratna defence electronics company under the Ministry of Defence, has released employment advertisement No. 12949/HR/GAD/NCS/2026/02 on 25 September 2026.

The company requires 36 experienced Ex-Servicemen from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for its Network Centric Systems (NCS) and Radar Strategic Business Unit (SBU) located at the Ghaziabad Complex. Selected engineers will handle radar systems, communication networks, missile telemetry installations, and defense electronics projects nationwide.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification & Defence Service

• Candidates must be Ex-Servicemen retired/discharged from the Indian Air Force (IAF) on or before the closing date.
• Must possess a 3-year Diploma in Engineering in Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Telecommunication / Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognized defense trade qualifications.
• Must have completed a minimum of 15 years of active service in the Indian Air Force.
• Rank at the time of retirement/discharge must be Junior Warrant Officer (JWO), Warrant Officer (WO), or Master Warrant Officer (MWO).

Age Limit (as on 01.10.2026)

• Maximum Age: 50 years for General / Unreserved candidates.
• Age relaxation: 3 years for OBC (NCL) and 5 years for SC/ST candidates as per Government of India directives.

Application Fee Structure

• General, OBC, and EWS Candidates: ₹472/- (₹400 application fee + 18% GST).
• SC, ST, and PwBD Candidates: Exempted (NIL).

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in the executive cadre as Senior Assistant Engineer (E-I Grade) in the pay scale of ₹30,000–₹1,20,000.

In addition to basic pay, appointees receive 35% perks and allowances, Dearness Allowance (IDA pattern), House Rent Allowance (HRA), medical reimbursement, group insurance, and gratuity as per company rules.

Selection Process

1. Written Test — 85 marks objective multiple-choice test consisting of General Mental Ability and Technical Engineering sections.
2. Interview / Scrutiny of Defence Records — 15 marks evaluating relevant defense experience and operational capabilities.
3. Medical Fitness — Medical examination according to BEL corporate medical standards.
