About BTSC TVO Recruitment 2026

The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has issued official Advertisement No. 27/2026 for the recruitment of 787 Touring Veterinary Officers under the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department, Government of Bihar. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) degree from an institution recognized by the Veterinary Council of India.
• Permanent registration with the Bihar Veterinary Council is mandatory before the application closing date.
• Internship must be successfully completed on or before the last date of application.

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age for Unreserved Male: 37 years
• Maximum Age for Backward Class / Extremely Backward Class (Male & Female): 40 years
• Maximum Age for Unreserved Female: 40 years
• Maximum Age for SC / ST (Male & Female): 42 years
• Age relaxation for Divyang (PwD) candidates: 10 years as per Bihar government rules.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level-9 under the 7th Central Pay Commission with a starting basic salary of ₹53,100 per month (Pay Band ₹9,300–34,800 with Grade Pay ₹5,400).

In addition to the basic pay, Touring Veterinary Officers in Bihar are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA), Medical Allowance, and Travelling Allowances as per state regulations.

Selection Process

The final merit list will be prepared out of a total of 100 marks based on:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) — 75 marks based on veterinary science syllabus.
2. Higher Qualification (Post Graduation / Ph.D.) — Up to 10 marks bonus.
3. Contract Work Experience — Up to 15 marks (5 marks per completed year of government service in Bihar).
4. Document Verification — Scrutiny of original certificates and medical examination.
