Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under the Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change has published a detailed notification for the recruitment of 51 vacancies on a contract basis under the Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER)-Phase-III Project on River Ganga. The project is funded by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Namami Gange Programme.

Detailed Educational Qualifications & Experience

1. Scientist-D

• Essential Qualification: First class Master’s in Environmental Science/ Natural Science OR First Class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology (Environmental/ Chemical/ Civil/ Energy and Environment/ Biotechnology).
• Research Requirement: Cumulative impact factor of total published papers in Journal should not be less than 10 (only UGC care list and Scopus indexed) OR Minimum Five Book/edited book chapter Published OR Minimum Five Technical Reports published by CPCB/SPCB.
• Experience: 7 years of relevant practical experience from reputed organizations in the field of Prevention, control & abatement of river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management and environmental management.

2. Scientist-C

• Essential Qualification: First class Master’s in Environmental Science/ Natural Science OR First Class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology (Environmental/ Chemical/ Civil/ Energy and Environment/ Biotechnology).
• Research Requirement: Cumulative impact factor of total published papers in Journal should not be less than 7 (only UGC care list and Scopus indexed) OR Minimum Three Book/edited book chapter Published OR Minimum Three Technical Reports published by CPCB/SPCB.
• Experience: 5 years of relevant practical experience from reputed organizations in the field of Prevention, control & abatement of river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management and environmental management.

3. Scientist-B

• Essential Qualification: First class Master’s in Environmental Science/ Natural Science OR First Class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology (Environmental/ Chemical/ Civil/ Energy and Environment/ Biotechnology).
• Additional Requirement: Valid GATE score with 90% above percentile/ NET-JRF qualified.
• Experience: 3 years of relevant experience from reputed organizations in the field of Prevention, control & abatement of river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management and environmental management. (Research/teaching experience is also considered).

4. Assistant Manager (Finance)

• Essential Qualification: First class Master’s Degree in Commerce (Finance & Accounting/Taxations) / Chartered Accountant / MBA (Finance & Accounting).
• Experience: 8 years’ post qualification experience including usage of computers and office software packages, minimum 2 years tax experience, accounting entries in Tally & Quick books, online returns for TDS, GST, PF, ESI, STPI, and Payroll preparation.

5. Administrative Assistant

• Essential Qualification: First Class Bachelor Degree from a recognized University or equivalent with working knowledge of computers. (First Class Post-Graduation degree is desirable).
• Experience: Minimum 05 years post qualification experience of administration work preferably in Govt./PSU/Autonomous bodies in the relevant area in 4200/- grade pay or its equivalent.
• Skill Test: Shall pass the skill test based on noting drafting.

6. Scientific Assistant (SA)

• Essential Qualification: First class Master’s in Environmental Science/ Natural Science OR First Class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology (Environmental/ Chemical/ Civil/ Energy and Environment/ Biotechnology).
• Additional Requirement: Valid GATE score with 90% above percentile/ NET-JRF qualified.

7. Taxonomist

• Essential Qualification: First Class M.Sc.
• Desirable: Master’s Degree in Botany or Zoology with minimum 75% marks or equivalent.
• Additional Requirements: Valid GATE score with 90% above percentile/NET-JRF qualified AND Cumulative impact factor of published papers not less than 7 OR One Book/Edited Book chapter OR One Technical Report by CPCB/State Pollution Control Board.

8. Data Entry Operator

• Essential Qualification: First class Bachelor Degree in Science/BCA.
• Skill Test: Shall pass the skill test in MS office (word, excel & power point), English typing speed @45 wpm and Hindi typing speed @35 wpm only on computer.

9. Field Assistant

• Essential Qualification: Passed 10+2 in Science with minimum 55%.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and sample preservation.

Selection/Screening & Syllabus Information

In case a large number of candidates apply for the position, the Selection/Screening Committee will have discretion to shortlist the candidates for interview based on written exam or percentage of marks or desirable qualification/relevant experience or higher qualification or any other criteria as deemed fit.
