Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC EPFO APFC Recruitment 2026 notification for 80 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner posts in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Ministry of Labour & Employment. Eligible graduates can apply online from 22 August 2026 to 11 September 2026, up to 6:00 PM, through the official UPSC online application portal.

UPSC EPFO APFC Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• A degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
• The degree must be completed by the closing date of the application.
• Desirable: A diploma in Company Law, Labour Laws, or Public Administration (Not mandatory).

Nationality

• Citizens of India.
• Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan.
• Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before 1 January 1962.
• Persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

UPSC APFC Age Limit

Additional age relaxation may be available to eligible candidates such as Ex-servicemen, Commissioned officers, Central/Union Territory Government employees, and Existing EPFO employees.

UPSC APFC Salary and Job Profile

The Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner post is placed at Level 10 of the Pay Matrix under the 7th Central Pay Commission. It is a permanent Group ‘A’, non-ministerial post under EPFO.

• The role involves administration and enforcement of provident fund and social security laws.
• Responsibilities include compliance monitoring, claims and grievance administration, inspections, and recovery proceedings.
• Group ‘A’ officer status with a one-year probation period.
• All India service liability (Posting may be made anywhere in India).

UPSC EPFO APFC Selection Process

The selection process consists of a Recruitment Test followed by a Personality Test or Interview. The final selection weightage is 75% for the Recruitment Test and 25% for the Interview.

Preparation Strategy

• Build a strong foundation in the Constitution, economy, history, and general science.
• Study the latest labour codes and important labour law concepts.
• Practise arithmetic, statistics, and reasoning questions regularly.
• Revise accountancy, auditing, and insurance fundamentals.
• Read newspapers and monthly current affairs compilations.
• Solve objective questions while keeping the negative marking scheme in mind.
• Attempt full-length mock tests within the two-hour time limit.

UPSC APFC Exam Centres

The Recruitment Test will be conducted at designated centres across India. The notification mentions 84 examination centres, including cities such as Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Dispur, and Nagpur. Centre allotment may follow a first-apply-first-allot basis.
